Syria Silicon is open to investment of around USD 35 million for Stage 1: a facility to wash, grade, dry and bag the Al-Qaryatayn silica quartz sand for export through the Port of Tartus. The plan, subject to closing the investment, is to establish the Syrian Silicon City in stages, beginning with this treatment facility in 2027–2028. Further stages depend on what the silica purity reveals on the ground.
